Summary
When do you scale?
Every high-growth digital business has an AI strategy baked into the core platform. Whether the original driver was efficiency as you scale, or insight and “learning” as the business matures - there are no surprises in these early phases.
The questions about the value from and investment in Machine Learning, the trade-offs, the ROI and the upsides start as the data in the platform grows. After the initial exuberance, many early adopters find the value from ML starting to become ambiguous and adoption beginning to plateau.
There is an opportunity to create a safe place for leaders who are responsible for the business value in AI/ML, to come together and have the debate about how and when to scale.
At the AWS Exec Leaders Forum, we’re developing a small group of those interested in a regular discussion on this subject to come together in a private Chatham House environment - where they can share openly and learn from each other.

Mohan serves as a Senior Vice President of Applied Science at Onfido, a technology company that uses AI to help businesses securely and rapidly verify people's identities in a digital world using a government issued ID and their facial biometrics.
After completing a PhD in Physics, Mohan has led Computer Vision and Machine Learning efforts across a variety of domains. Prior to joining Onfido, Mohan led research teams for Robotics at Amazon and several product lines at KLA. Mohan has over 25 patents and applications in Machine Learning, AI, system design and related fields.
