Dinner

March 16, 2022

Summary

Master data, product data, customer data- what does the future hold?

Every retailing business is now facing a world where omnichannel is the only option. Marketplaces, multiple channel-feeds, faster sell-through, fresh customer data from new sources - Oh and a drive for growth.

There are rumblings that (finally) many retailers are going to have to "clean house". Time to close that extra/secret "eCommerce" warehouse, find a way of delivering accurate and enriched product information, reduce the manual effort in preparing channel pricing (so that real commercial growth can occur).

The Data Dinner was for those leaders who end up (willingly or otherwise) needing to fix, sort, clean and/or improve data across the business - we encouraged those to - come and dissect the challenge and join a private group in a Chatham house environment to share with one another.

This event ran in a hybrid style - those unable to join us in-person in London, were welcome to join us virtually from the comfort of your own home!

  • Product data - How do you start to wrestle this into a more meaningful and organised process?
  • Feeds feeds feeds - Should it be this hard? How and when should you automate?
  • Customers - When is your data rich and clean enough to approach investment in 1:1 merchandising?
